Early in the morning, Pntoo's partners had gathered at the departure point—with hiking gear in their backpacks and longing for Huizhou's landscapes on their faces. Today, we were heading to She County to pursue the ancient charm of Yangchan Tulou and kick off a team building feast that blends humanity and nature.

Tracing Wenchang Ancient Path, First Taste of Huizhou Flavors

After a roughly 3-hour drive, we arrived at the restaurant at 10:40 for lunch. The authentic Huizhou dishes delighted everyone's taste buds and replenished energy for the upcoming hike.

At noon, we reached the starting point of Wenchang Ancient Path—Dakengkou. This 6-kilometer-long path paved with over 5,000 bluestone steps was a prosperous commercial route during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Today, it became a "training ground" for our team to move forward side by side. With scattered bluestones and lush vegetation on both sides, partners chatted about work anecdotes or life experiences, and the ancient path echoed with the vitality of Pntoo people.

Mutual Assistance on Steep Climbs, Tulou's Grand View Reflects Original Aspirations

The second half of Wenchang Ancient Path featured a steep climb that posed a "challenge." Before reaching Yangchan Tulou, the steep steps left many partners out of breath. "Here, let me pull you up!" "Take your time, adjust your breathing, we'll go together!" Words of concern were passed around the team. Colleagues with good physical strength took the initiative to slow down and support those who were less fit. At this moment, everyone was not an individual but a closely connected "Pntoo Team."

Sweat soaked their clothes, but their footsteps never stopped. When we finally arrived at Yangchan Tulou, the scene before us turned all fatigue into amazement—in this mountain village with a history of over 400 years, more than 300 tulou (earthen buildings) in red, black and white hues intertwined, layer upon layer extending from the foot of the mountain to the top. Bluestone paths connected the ancient tulou into a picturesque scene. Elderly villagers chatted leisurely in the sun, and this tranquility formed a wonderful contrast with the lively mutual assistance along our journey.

"Look at the layering of those tulou, it's breathtaking!" "Thanks to you during the climb, otherwise I really would have given up!" Partners either stopped to take photos or joked with each other. The joy of reaching the summit and the warmth of mutual assistance blended in their hearts. The beauty of Yangchan Tulou lies not only in the integration of architecture and landscapes but also in the memories of our team overcoming difficulties together.

Exploring the Less-Known Wangshan Village, Returning with Full Hearts

At 15:30, we descended the mountain and crossed into Wangshan Village. Rarely visited by outsiders, the curious and friendly glances of the villagers made us feel as if we had stumbled into a paradise. The niche scenery, explored together with partners, created some exclusive memories.

As dusk fell, on the return bus, everyone flipped through their phone photo albums. The red, black and white tulou clusters lay layer upon layer on the screens. Some admired them quietly, while others exchanged occasional glances. The beautiful scenery gained after climbing the mountain with mutual assistance shone brightly in the photos and left warm marks in everyone's hearts.

Team Building Conclusion: Mountains and Rivers Resonate, Team Unites as One

On this team building trip to She County, we left footprints of mutual assistance on the bluestones of Wenchang Ancient Path and froze smiles of unity amid the mountains and rivers of Yangchan Tulou. Pntoo's partners overcame the steep climb with the warmth of mutual help and understood the humanistic heritage of Huizhou's ancient paths and tulou through the tacit understanding of walking side by side.

In future journeys, there may also be "steep climbs." But as long as we—like we did in She County—unite our minds and efforts, and help each other, we will surely reach the summit of every "tulou" and harvest more beautiful scenery belonging to Pntoo!
